This week we decided to head back to fresh water . With Loch Lomond on our doorstep and so much water to explore we departed from Balmaha . Here in Scotland the weather has been the main talk this week with arctic air descending from the east . Cold air swooping from the east is never enjoyable to anyone . I planned my day’s fishing anchoring and sempling the sceneries . I got a few bites , small tug in the line but no fish was hungry enough . Lure fishing was even worse with only one fish tasting or nudging the slow retrieved small shad .

I paddled only a couple of miles , mostly pushed on by the light very cold wind , but it was absolutely great just to be there in the middle of nowhere . With no fishing action we then  headed back , at that precise time I was thinking of a hot bath . Then Glen shouted fish on , a welcome fish , I paddle towards him and capture that smile . I then had hopes I was going to catch something but it was getting so cold we really had to go .

Today’s water temperature was oscillating between 3 to 4 degree C . It will take another month to warm up a little bit and by that time we will be ready for some proper action . Till then , tight lines all .
