Our latest and one of the most enjoyable adventure took us on Loch Lomond . Loch Lomond situated near Glasgow is probably one of the biggest Loch of Great Britain . Glen and I started our paddle early morning , just the two of us on a fishing hunt .Within 200 yards of paddling we both connected with 2 small perch .I used a mini diving plug and a wire trace just in case Esox is active .Our plan was to cover a lot of water and fish some shallow bays .The weather was comfortable with some showers about and a good cloud cover , perfect for fishing .We paddle side to side covering a fair distance ,and eventually Glen shouted fish on and I rallied to capture this instant .A nice fierce pike , probably around lb 5 to lb 6 was played back to the kayak .This was going to be a good day with an encouraging start .Glen point out his deadly lure ,a savagear eel trolled slowly just above the sandy weed bed  . I change my tactic straight away and knot a similar eel ,a bright red one though . I cast the lure in the distance and within seconds I hook into a fish ,nothing massive but when the fish breach the surface I notice the sharp spiky dorsal fin .This is a perch , and a good one too .We paddle on till the very far bank exploring , a couple of osprey are circling above our heads .Will those eagle show us the right way to go ? We paddle across the bottom end of the loch and using the deep diver I hook into some more perch , this is good .Catch and release is the rule of the national park ,those bonnie fish deserves not to be eaten .Next stop is working our way through a shallow bay .Glen is on and this time this is a better looking fish ,we call them mid twenty .The fish is on and the fight is grand .After a good run ,jump and splash Glen unhook the big fish ,The hook and eel soft lure comes quickly out , I take a quick photo and he releases the fish .Big smile ,Glen sits happy .We paddle back heading for some more exploring , this time up the river .This is scenic Scotland .Our journey takes us back and we fish another weedy bay ,the weed is blooming making fishing impossible .I cast a weedless frog and a big swirl and a splash follow .The fish was not hooked properly ,another missed battle .We paddle back after many hours on the water and I spot 2 more kayaks on the water ,Declan and Dan having some fun ,paddling and fishing .As we come closer to them my rod is bending right over and I start playing with a small pike ,the fish unhook itself after a few twist and turn and He’s off .We decide to pursue our adventure ,now paddling around the big island . Dan ,the furthest out smashes a pike ,I can see the fish trying to make a run in the far distance .Eventually we paddle right around the island and head back to our starting point .On the day we paddle over 13 miles ,only caught 2 species of fish , pike and perch but both were specimen .On the day we learned a little bit more and greatly enjoy the bonnie banks of loch lomond .
